October Green Eggs - Sustainable Materials

Martine Dion, AIA, LEED AP, Director of Sustainable Design at SMMA

Please join us for this month's Green Eggs presentation to learn more about sustainable materials.  We'll discuss materials and finishes as they relate to the holistic sustainable design process and address sustainable materials in the context of LEED.  In addition, attendess will learn how to employ regional materials and how to apply Life Cycle Assessment to material selection.  

Martine Dion, AIA, LEED AP, is an architect and Director of Sustainable Design at SMMA with seventeen years of experience.  She is the chairperson of SMMA’s Sustainable Design Committee, as well as the sustainable expert within the firm, providing sustainable design and LEED consulting services to clients.  Ms. Dion has been in charge of the implementation and coordination of sustainable design practices for the firm for the past nine years and has largely contributed to its consolidation across the firm’s A&E disciplines. She has completed LEED projects and multiple school projects that have been awarded green grants from the Commonwealth.
Ms. Dion has made several presentations on sustainable design and LEED projects in the US, Canada, and Asia. She has contributed to numerous articles on the topic, with her most recent article about LEED EB (Existing Buildings), "Existing Buildings Making Progress", published in the January 21, 2008 issue of Banker & Tradesman magazine.
Martine sits on the Leadership Council of the USGBC Massachusetts Membership Forum (USGBC Affiliate).  

About Green Eggs and To Register:
Green Eggs is the Chapter's monthly breakfast forum featuring a speaker and topic relevant to green buildings. Networking and a full breakfast will take place from 7:30 - 8:00 followed by a 45 minute presentation and a 15 minute question, answer & discussion period. Attendance is limited and pre-registration with payment is recommended. Attendance is $10 for members and $15 for non members.
