Weatherization and Indoor Air Quality Seminars
Jointly Sponsored by the Maine Indoor Air Quality Council and the US Environmental Protection Agency
This program will highlight how weatherization can exacerbate indoor air quality problems in a home, or worse, create problems where none previously existed. It will provide guidance on ways to recognize and control moisture, recognize and control radon, seal pest entry points, provide for planned ventilation, recognize and control combustion sources, limit exposure to VOCs, and educate homeowner occupants.
The course presenters, Terry Brennan and Bill Turner, are two of the nation's top building science analysts and trainers. They are field testing this training on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, for replication around the country if successful. The Maine IAQ Council is pleased to offer this national-quality training at very low rates to Maine participants.
This program is designed for all building construction professionals. It provides a comprehensive overview of how weatherization can impact the healthfulness of the indoor environment.
