Join us to learn about what ‘green’ means in the world of real estate. Chris LaVoie and Diane Edwards, both of Keller Williams Realty in Portland, will address the evolution of real estate over the past twenty years, culminating in its definition of green realty. Broker distinctions such as the EcoBroker and NAR Green credentials will be explained. Chris and Diane will speak to the savings vs. cost of ‘going green’ in real estate, specifically. We’ll also hear about the unique opportunities and effective methodologies that exist for marketing green properties. Attendees will learn about the new interpretations of the market positioning of green properties based on price analyses, demographic studies, etc. Chris and Diane will also address the big question of building new or renovating green, citing real world examples and tax incentives.

Diane Edwards is an EcoBroker with Keller Williams Realty in Portland and has worked in Real Estate for the past 5 years. Last year she earned her LEED-AP accreditation. Her specialty is energy efficient real estate, finding that eco-friendly house for the buyer or marketing energy efficient housing for the seller. Diane also owns the Wild Iris Inn, which is a Portland’s only certified green bed and breakfast.
Chris LaVoie is a real estate consultant with Keller Williams Realty in Portland. A graduate of the University of Maine, where his studies included marketing and geology, Chris brings creativity and down to earth thinking to his work. Chris resides in Portland and is an avid outdoorsman.

Green Eggs is the Chapter's monthly breakfast forum featuring a speaker and topic relevant to green buildings. Networking and breakfast (featuring bagels and cream cheese, fruit salad and coffee) will take place from 7:30 - 8:00 followed by a 45 minute presentation and a 15 minute question, answer & discussion period. Attendance is limited and pre-registration with payment is recommended. Attendance is $10 for members and $15 for non members.
