Free Weatherization Course for Homeowners at SMCC – 1/24/12 and 1/28/12
SMCC is offering two free workshops to help you lower your winter heating bill.
Making your home energy efficient does not have to be expensive, in fact, we will teach you inexpensive ways to reduce your energy consumption by as much as 25%. At this free two-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of weatherization so you can keep more heat in your home and more money in your pocket.
To maximize convenience, we are offering this free class twice:
Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 6pm-8pm (2 hrs)
Saturday, January 28, 2012, 9am-11am (2 hrs)
Both courses will be held at the Sustainable Energy Alternative Center (SEA) on SMCC’s South Portland campus. Locate the Sustainable Energy Alternative Center on the interactive map.
Sign up today! While the course is free and open to the public, registration is required.
You can register by calling (207) 741-5862 or emailing mcox@smccME.edu, Monday – Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
During the 2-hour class students will learn how heat escapes houses and what cost-effective measures maximize energy efficiency. The workshop will focus on no- or low-cost improvements and include a discussion about financing opportunities for larger-scale solutions. Participants will also learn installation tips and techniques for basic weatherization materials.
