1. What’s the difference between National USGBC and Maine Chapter USGBC membership? What are membership requirements and fees for each?
Companies join National USGBC and individuals join local Chapters.
For more information on membership requirements and fees for National USGBC, please visit their website at www.usgbc.org.
For the Maine Chapter, individuals can join for $50 if they are employed by National USGBC member companies and $65 if they are not. Students can join for $10 if they are enrolled in an accredited degree program.
2. What are the USGBC Maine Chapter’s goals?
Goals include:
- Educate the public and the building industry on the benefits of green building and LEED.
- ·Serve as a local resource for green building.
- Provide a forum for information exchange.
- Encourage sustainable “green” products and services produced in or sourced from the State of Maine.
- Represent the mission and goals of the USGBC at the local level.
- Participate in national USGBC events such as leadership training, Chapter Retreat and Green Build.

4. What is the composition of the Maine Chapter?
The Maine Chapter is currently composed of design professionals, contractors, governmental employees, product vendors and manufacturers, and other individuals concerned with promoting a more sustainable future for Maine.
5. What events does the USGBC Maine Chapter have planned for the coming year?
The Chapter will be presenting at least 10 Green Eggs monthly breakfast forums and 5 LEED trainings. The listserv and our online calendar are great ways to learn more about these and other programs.
6. How are Chapter activities and general information communicated?
